Personal Observations:
The Emperor's Royal Guard that comes in the Return of the Jedi three pack is definitely one of the best figures of this character that I have ever seen. The original figure from 1983 will always be my favorite, but at least for me, this figure is the best Royal Guard since. His sculpt is really nice, his colors look just right, he holds his weapon just like he should and he is actually capable of some action poses despite his bulky robes. Under the robes is a fully sculpted body in armor, based on how the character has been depicted in comics. The body is one solid color with no paint, but that's probably as it should be. Since this figure is based off of Return of the Jedi and not the comics, there's really no saying what the outfit under his robes should look like. I personally would have preferred him to be wearing the outfit that the 1983 figure was wearing under his robes, but this one will certainly do. There is no head under the helmet, but that makes sense, as these Royal Guards always seemed to have a feeling of mystery about them. Maybe it's better if it stays that way. It would have been nice if the helmet and robe were two separate pieces, so the body could still wear the helmet without the robes. If that had been done, this figure would have been capable of sitting and piloting vehicles without being headless. Still, it's a good figure though, and one that was nice to get at the same time all of his red guard successors from The Last Jedi came out. Which guards are better? I guess they will just have to fight it out to see!
