Personal Observations
As of this writing, this version of Finn without his jacket is available only with the Desert Landspeeder, making it probably a bit more of a rare figure. This figure is decent and is just about as good as you could hope for if you're wanting a figure of Finn in this outfit. The outfit is a little boring though, but if you don't mind that, you will be happy. Apart from the head, I don't think that he shares any other parts from the basic Finn figure. He sits very well and can easily man the gunner station in the landspeeder. The blaster that comes with Finn has a very subtle gold coloring and looks quite a bit better than the basic Finn's blaster, which to me, looked messy the way the gold deco was added. The figure itself also has some weathering on it that's supposed to look like Finn has gotten dirty out in the sand. I'm not sure if the effect really works or not though. I guess it does make a boring outfit look a little more interesting, but since it's just on the front of the figure and not on the back, it looks like he must have belly-flopped in the wet sand. The sand effect is also on his neck, but not on his face, creating a skin color mismatch. I think in the end, the sand weathering was overdone on the front and underdone on the back. The weathering and the boring outfit aside though, this is a perfect figure for vehicles, and for people who want to have Finn in all of his outfits, a must buy. |
