Personal Observations
General Hux is a great looking action figure that somehow has kind of a nostalgic, vintage Kenner Imperial Commander feel to me. He is sculpted wearing what you would probably call his 'cold weather gear', with the coat and hat. In the movie he is usually seen without these items, except when he is outdoors in the snow. I'm glad Hasbro went with this look though, since it is the more interesting outfit, although I'm still hoping they do an 'indoors' General Hux at some point too. As nice as Hux looks, there are a few things about him that could have maybe been a little better. First is the ball jointed neck. The purpose of the ball joint is to give the head a better range of motion, enabling the figure to tilt their head or look up and down. Unfortunately for Hux, all he can do is turn his head from side to side while permanently looking down, defeating the purpose of the ball joint. Hux doesn't sit very well either, but since his coat will prevent him from fitting in most vehicle cockpits anyway, it's not that big of a deal. I did get him to sit in the back of the Rebels Phantom vehicle as a passenger, so that's good enough for me. These complaints are minor though, and for the most part Hux is a really nice figure. If there is one thing that I really don't like though, it's the hole in his back. I know it's to add play value by letting him wear some kind of jet pack thing, and maybe some people will like that, but for me, it just looks awful. I don't want to end this review on a bad note though, because beside the hole, Hux really is a nice looking figure of one of the main villains from The Force Awakens, and I'm glad to have him in my collection.
