Personal Observations:
Even though it wasn't very long ago that we got a very similar Jyn Erso figure, I was still pretty excited to get this one. The reason being, is that this one is just plain better. The head and the paint job on the previous Jyn Erso (Jedha) was not very good. While this figure still does not look just like Jyn Erso actress Felicity Jones, it does look pretty, feminine, and has a nice delicate paint job. Another thing that I really like about the head on this figure as opposed to the old one is that the hair is a separate, brown piece of plastic attached to the rest of the head. The previous Jyn's head was one piece of plastic with poorly painted hair. Now, not only does her hair look flawless without messy paint going where it shouldn't go or leaving parts of the hair unpainted, you can now take her hood off and put it back on as many times as you want without it wearing her hair color off. This was starting to happen on my older Jyn Erso (Jedha) figure, so I'm very happy that Hasbro decided to make this change. Another interesting new change with this figure is that her boots are also separate cast pieces of plastic from the rest of her legs, so no need to worry about the paint wearing off her boots like you had to with the older Jyn figure. In the comparison picture above, you can see the older figure on the left and the newer one on the right. The colors of some parts of her outfit are a little bit of a different shade and so is her hair color, but overall, I would say they look sharper. The exception to this is her blaster. For some reason, rather than making her blaster a metallic looking silver like the one with the old figure, now it's a dull gray, and looks like cheap plastic. The Force Link feature is fun if you have the Force Link toy to go with it, but the audio quotes for this figure don't sound to me like they come directly from the movie. I wonder if it is even Felicity Jones speaking, or just someone that sounds like her? Anyway, to me, this is a great figure that makes lots of little improvements over the older figure in small, but important ways. If you have the older figure, you may not want this one, but I certainly don't regret getting mine.
