Personal Observations
Here is the second Jyn Erso figure from Rogue One, wearing one of several outfits seen in the film. This warmer looking outfit is what Jyn was wearing on Jedha when she and Cassian were trying to blend in with the local population. Jyn comes with a nice silver colored blaster and an especially nice feature; a removable hood. The hood looks nice, but I've noticed as I've removed it many times now, that some of Jyn's hair color is starting to wear off inside, so this could end up being a problem. In the movie, Jyn often had the hood down, but with this figure, our option is either to have it on or to have the whole shawl completely off. Perhaps a future variation will come with the hood down. Jyn also comes with a shoulder mounted weapon, which she did not have in the movie, but I guess adds some fantasy play value. Maybe it would come in handy for blasting an AT-ST! This figure sits nicely when she isn't wearing the shawl, and should be able to fit in most vehicles. Her holster also works great and she can grip the handle of her blaster really well. Overall, this figure looks really good except for two things. First, the paint job on the face and hair on all of the Jyn Erso (Jedha) figures that I've seen is pretty poor. As you can see on my figure, the hair that comes closest to her face is unpainted. But off all the figures that I saw in the store, the one that I picked out looked the best. The other thing that bothers me about this figure is that it is not recognizable as Felicity Jones, the actress who played Jyn Erso. I know that human likenesses on figures this size are hard to do, but even so, most of them still manage to resemble the actual person, at least a little bit. But in this case, I see no resemblance at all. Oh well, at least she looks female, so it could be worse. Does she look better than the previous Jyn Erso (Eadu) figure? It's hard to say. But either way, I'm still glad that we have another Jyn Erso figure to add to the collection.
