Personal Observations
Here is our third unique Kylo Ren figure in the 5POA line and the first to show the character's face. This time around, Kylo also comes with a more action oriented stance. I like how his hand is posed to look like he's using the force on an enemy! This figure sits pretty well, but probably won't be fitting in many vehicles. He can just about do the splits though, and that's a fun feature that I always like. When you're playing with your figures, you can make Kylo give someone a super kick! The likeness to actor Adam Driver is pretty good, but for some reason his head seems a little bit larger than it should. When you compare him with the helmet wearing Kylo's or with any other human character in The Force Awakens line, his head just seems abnormally large. His eyebrows appear to have been given an over exaggerated angry look too, but apart from these two issues with the head, I have no other complaints about this figure. Kylo Ren comes with his lightsaber, but also with a removable cape and hood. In the movie, he was never seen with his hood up when his helmet was off, but perhaps this figure is based off of the first teaser trailer for the movie where Kylo was seen walking through the forest with his back to the camera. From the movie we know that he had lost his helmet by the time he went into the forest, so I guess you could say that this figure might be based on a scene from a trailer that didn't make it into the movie. If you have the Armor Up Kylo Ren figure, you can easily swap capes with this figure so you can create a hood down version. Coincidentally, the hood that comes with this figure fits perfectly on the Armor Up version. Now that we have three Kylo Ren's from The Force Awakens, I think the only one still left to be made would be a battle damaged version. Hopefully we will be seeing that one in the future too!
