Personal Observations:
This is our third Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker in the 5POA line, but it's basically an update of one of the previous figures. I used to think the first Luke that we had in this black Jedi outfit looked great, but now that I have this new figure in hand, the old one doesn't look so good anymore! This Luke Skywalker comes as part of three pack of three very much needed and excellent looking figures from Return of the Jedi. It has been a couple years since we had a new Return of the Jedi figure in the 5POA line, so this three pack is a really nice way to make up for it. Luke has a good sculpt and actually features seven points of articulation rather than the usual five. This figure has wrists that turn, which is a good feature to have for a character that's going to be battling with a lightsaber. Usually I'm against adding more articulation to the 5POA line, because it tends to take away from the sculpt and makes the figure more fragile, but in the case of wrist joints, I'm fine with it. At least with the wrist joint, you can look at the figure and not even tell the joint is there. Luke's head sculpt is one of the better ones that I've seen at this scale, but his hair color may be a little too red. Hair color is probably a difficult thing to match though, and the hair does have some shading detail as well, so I still think it's still a good effort. One thing to look out for with this figure though is the paint detail on the eyes. A lot of the ones that I saw in the store had a poor paint job on the eyes, so make sure you pick out the best one possible. Luke can sit well, but standing can be a bit more challenging, due to his stance. The pose does look a little odd if he isn't battling and does cause him to lean a bit to the side. The Force Link feature is fun if you have the Force Link reader toy, and Luke says a few phrases from his battle on the Death Star, as well as from Jabba's palace. It would have been nice to get a figure of Luke wearing his outfit from Jabba's palace, since we already had this one, but as it is, this is still a great figure, and a welcome improvement over the previous one. If you want to pretend this is Luke at Jabba's palace, he can borrow the cloak from The Last Jedi Luke. The look isn't completely accurate, but I suppose you could also pretend to have Luke between Episodes VI and VII as he transitioned from Jedi Knight to Jedi Master.
