Personal Observations
This Poe Dameron is the only all new figure from The Force Awakens to be released with the first wave of Rogue One figures. Part of a two pack with a First Order Snowtrooper, this particular version of Poe depicts him wearing an outfit that was barely seen, but was definitely in the movie. This outfit, which I'm guessing is a Resistance officer's uniform, was what Poe was wearing at the end of the movie when Rey, R2 and Chewie were leaving aboard the Falcon and a large Resistance gathering was watching them go. This is a figure that I wanted, but was surprised that we got it this soon, when I doubted it would be made at all! This figure has a noticeably different face sculpt than the previous Poe Dameron figures, and in my point of view, that's a good thing. The earlier Poe's barely look like the actor in the movie, but this one has a way more believable likeness. There is something about the face that still isn't perfect, but it is such a big improvement that I am satisfied with it. Poe's uniform looks good and features the good old split 'skirt' that enables him to sit perfectly. Some more recent figures like Tasu Leech came with a solid skirt, which looks better, but makes it difficult for the figure to sit. I like it when figures can sit, so I'll gladly take the split skirt, even if it doesn't look quite as nice. Poe comes with the same blaster that the pilot figures of him carry, but this time it is a darker color, that at least to me, makes it look more realistic. As far as negatives go, I don't see too much wrong with this figure. One of the most obvious things may be that he doesn't look like the same man as the previous Poe figures, but I think the fault there lies with the odd face sculpt of the previous Poe's and not this one. This Poe may be a bit broad in the chest and shoulders, but I'm not sure if it's excessive or not. The dual projectile weapon is weird and it's unrealistic that an average human could carry a thing like that around, but it could be fun for some people to play with, and it might also look good as some background scrap if you are building a scene with your figures. The outfit that Poe is wearing may seem a little boring, since he wasn't involved in any action while wearing it, but I guess that's where make believe comes in. Poe Dameron is a man of action, and should be able to wind up in all sorts of amazing adventures no matter what he's wearing.
