Personal Observations
The Resistance Trooper is the first 'good guy' trooper in the 5POA line since the Episode II Clone Trooper, finally giving our non-prequel heroes someone to command and the Stormtroopers a potential army to battle. This seems to be one of the least popular characters for people to buy from the first wave of The Force Awakens line, but really, he's not that bad. Unlike most of the earlier 5POA figures, he has a ball jointed neck, which gives his head a much wider range of motion. This kind of joint doesn't always look good, but on this figure it does. One of the major complaints about this guy is that his helmet isn't removable and has a solid yellow visor. I agree that a removable helmet would be nice, and even more so a transparent visor. But since this is just a generic trooper and not a major character, it's something I can live with. This trooper comes with a large silver rifle that he can hold onto nicely, as well as one part of a four piece buildable weapon. This piece on it's own doesn't seem that special, but when you put them all together you get a pretty nifty laser cannon. The trooper sits really well and I'm happy to say that he should be able to easily fit in most vehicles comfortably. I didn't think it possible when I first saw him, but the Resistance Trooper has actually become one of my favorite figures from the first wave of The Force Awakens collection. Really folks, he's not that bad! |
