Personal Observations
This Stormtrooper Sergeant is the figure included with a small First Order Assault Walker vehicle. This vehicle and figure set was released in September 2015, three months before The Force Awakens movie came to theaters. I was expecting to see this vehicle in the movie, but now it seems that it was created purely as a toy. This is similar to what was done back in the 1980's line with the mini-rig vehicles. They weren't seen anywhere in the movie, but they were created as fun little toys that look like they could exist in the Star Wars universe and at the same time provide a lot of fun for kids creating their own adventures for a lower price than the larger movie accurate vehicles. The Stormtrooper figure surprisingly isn't exactly the same as the basic single carded Stormtrooper. This figure has just a little bit of a longer neck to allow the shoulder pauldron to fit comfortably. When you pop off the head, the pauldron is removable, allowing you to have another basic trooper with a nicer range of motion in his neck than the regular Stormtrooper figure. One little oddity about this figure is that the slot on his leg where you plug in the blaster is more of an 'L' shape rather than the straight slot on the regular Stormtrooper. This difference is also seen on the blaster as well. For some reason, this figure doesn't seem to have any markings on him like place of manufacture, numbers, or anything of that sort. My Stormtrooper's arms, legs and head have sadly yellowed a bit when compared to the torso. I'm not sure if this is common with this figure or if it is due to him being on a store shelf for over a year before I bought him. I hope the yellowing doesn't get any worse. The vehicle itself is pretty nice with legs that move at the shoulders and at the ankles. The lower gun can also swivel, and the controls can lower and raise, potentially giving other figures the opportunity to pilot this vehicle. Overall, this is a pretty nice little set, and if you do like I did and wait until it's on a big sale, it makes it all the better!
